Today tens of thousands of British Columbians got a big pay raise.

Starting today it is illegal to pay anyone the training wage.

Last summer we exposed McDonald’s restaurants in Vancouver that were paying as little as $6.75 an hour.  Today those workers will get a 30% pay raise to $8.75.

It’s thanks to you and everyone else who participated in the campaign to increase BC’s minimum wage and eliminate the training wage.

Unfortunately – even with today’s increase – the BC Liberals have still left us with the lowest minimum wage in the country.
